It vacuums fine. However, it has a good sized dent in the lower back, where the I.D. plate is, though it was well packed. That means it was already dented when they put it in the box. The dent prevents the cord from being retracted, so it dangles helplessly out the back. I specifically chose this model so I could leave in on the fireplace hearth since it is better looking that all the rest I saw. I emailed the seller weeks ago and I have not heard one word from them-not even that they acknowledged receiving my email. I am still waiting for some kind of answer as to options for fixing it.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Cricket Ash Vac

Not only is the Cricket Ash Vac a powerfully effective cleaning tool, its soft matte black finish and brass trim make it pretty enough to even display upon your hearth! I used it most weekends and in the evenings for about 5-6 hours. I am on a budget sytem with Columbia Gas in NW Ohio and my budgeted monthly payment was $139. In February my budget amount dropped to $79 and it was a relatively cold winter. In fact after December 1st we only saw 4 or 5 days above freezing until the end of February. I highly recommend you buy fireplace doors with this product, this will help prevent the heat being sucked up through the chimney.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Mr. Flame Fireplace Radiator - Right-side fan

Save energy while cutting fuel costs! The wide coursing of the heating elements produced uniform heat in both, even when placing a baking sheet on the bottom rack position. But for this price, you darn well should get a few extra inches of heating rod. That said, the fancy extra features have turned me off. 1) The control buttons. There is an array of 9 and an array of four buttons for the upper oven on the left, and a symmetrical array of 4 and 9 for the lower oven on the right. The arrays of 4 are identical; that's good. But in the larger 9-button arrays, only the warm button is in the same place on the two arrays. The buttons you will typically use (bake button, oven light button, broil, etc) are in different places on the two arrays, and so even once you are familiar with the oven, you will be hunting and pecking. 2) The manual. It reads like a computer software manual ("for the pizza feature, select the pizza button"). It does not explain why you would want to select a "pizza feature" instead of just using "bake". Is it hotter? - No, the max temp is still 550F. What's the difference between the separate settings for fresh pizza or frozen? The manual says that "1" is for fresh, "2" is for frozen. Well, that certainly explains it to full intellectual satisfaction. Moving on to the slow cook settings; neither the manual nor the oven display reveals the temperature, but you are asked to select among four types of food and two heat levels. I used a calibrated oven and a long temperature probe to measure the temperature of 4 quarts of water, heating in a 5.5 qt ceramic slow-cook covered pot. When set to "stew" and "Lo" and "7 hr cook time", the water reached 202F by 2 hrs, full simmer of 207F at 2.5 hr, 203 F at 3 hrs, and then dropped slowly, dropping below 200F by 3.5 hr. I don't know of a cook , hoping to retain nutrients and proper food texture by a low temp slow-cooking method, who would choose to nearly boil the stew for over an hour. Using 2 quarts caused hours of frank boiling. When I tried the "beef" and "Hi" setting on 4 quarts of water, it reached 209F by 2 hr and dropped to 200F only by 3.5 hr. Any beef would be cardboard texture by then. Moving on to the "roast convection", this has nothing to do with roasting (which involves an oiled food in a uniform very hot oven). Instead, the top heating element comes on, which if not used very briefly, will char the topmost part of your otherwise evenly browned food. It is best used when one wants a broiled effect, but desires to keep the door closed. As long as GE won't engage the consumer by providing a mechanistic explanation of its dozens of settings, I would plan on using the ovens only in broil, bake, and convection modes.

Click Here to see more reviews about: GE Profile : PB975TPWW 30 Electric Range - White

GE Consumer and Industrial spans the globe as an industry leader in major appliance, lighting and integrated industrial equipment systems and services. The fireplace is quite heavy and needs to be well secured to the wall in a number of places, including 2 studs. The mounting hardware is terribly cheap, as I inserted the drywall anchors into the wall and began to screw them in, the tip consistently broke off each one, leaving me with no anchors that were functional. I also must admit that online the flame looks like it's embedded in the sand BUT the sand is quite clearly fabric, like a nylon/polyester blend, it was VERY disappointing to find out it wasn't actually sand. I returned this fireplace due to the poor mounting hardware that proved to be quite poorly matched to the installation requirements.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Dimplex EWF-SS Sahara Electric Wall-Mounted Fireplace

The Dimplex sahara electric wall mounted stove can be used with or without heat. Because of power, B. Because of price, and C. Because of it being sold by a Restaurant supply store. The unit is very attractive, solid to the touch, and materials seem to be of very high quality. The upfront digital control panel is very user friendly, and has the touch and feel of quality. The ceramic cook top will comfortably accommodate my Presto 8 qt pressure cooker down to the little 5 in. sauce pan I use to melt butter in. The unit is whisper quiet when operating, there is no buzzing sounds that I have read about in other units to include Major Brand Cook tops and Ranges. A couple of test I ran show the Cooker to be of a 10 Star rating. Using my electric range, large burner which used 2,800 Watts of power, using the 8 qt pressure cooker with 3 cups of cold water, it took the range 4 min. and 14 sec, to bring the pressure cooker up to full pressure. When the Induction cooker arrived I preformed the same test. The Induction Cooker at 1,800 Watts only took 3 min. 33 sec. to bring the pressure cooker up to full pressure. I am not a mathematician but I know somewhere in there is a savings. The next test was to see how cool the burner ran at the full 1,800 watts, so I placed a strip of plain white paper on the burner and repeated the first test. The paper remained as is, not a spot. When High Fidelity sound was invented I was very impressed. This Induction Cooker has impressed me even more than HiFi. I would recommend this unit to anyone, and everyone. After second unit arrived.
Second unit review:
After a month of testing I made the decision that Induction Cooking was the only way to fly and ordered a second unit.
With limited space in my kitchen it was necessary to make a modification to my electric range to accommodate the 2 Induction Cookers, this was done by ordering a custom cut cutting-board to place on top of the range after removing the 4 burners (see photo).
If you are a fan of fried foods as I am you'll love using the Induction Cooker. With the choice of using power setting from Temp or Watt setting it is possible achieve almost any desired cooking level. I said almost as when cooking that large pot of spaghetti sauce all day I was unable to find a setting that would simmer at a very low boil. I found a solution to this by placing 2 large CorningWare dinner plates on top of the Induction cooker and then placing the pot on the plates (see photo) This produced the perfect low simmer, also works great when doing a pot of bean soup. Fried foods come out perfectly using a setting of 212º, After bringing water to a boil on hi setting, pasta cooks well at 800 watt setting. That perfect pot of rice is achieved by using 2 ½ cups of water to 1 cup of rice. Bring water to a boil on hi setting, when water comes to a boil reduce heat to 212º and add rice then reduce heat again to 176º and place the lid on the pot, then set the timer for 20min. At the end of the cycle restart the cooker and lower the temp to 146º and set the timer for an additional 10min. At the end of the cycle, bingo you have the perfect pot of rice. I find the Induction cooker very versatile and a want to have item for every kitchen. As stated in my previous review the unit is very well made, very attractive, and blends in well in any decor. Recommended cookware is Stainless Steel with encapsulated aluminum bottoms, up to 11 inches. Cast Iron will work but heat distribution is not as good as the Stainless Steel, the same for Carbon Steel cookware, a diameter of 8 inches or less will work. Because there is no heat generated by the Induction Cooker, foods do not burn to the bottom of your cookware, or to the Induction Cooker making cleanup a breeze. After over a month of cooking on the Induction Cooker I have all pro's and no con's. I purchased my units at The WEBstaurant Store.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Induction Cooker 1800 watts

Induction Cooker 1800 w ( Update International - IC-1800W )

Click here for more information about Induction Cooker 1800 watts
Warren M Bakerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06021685267662774184noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5586923960850187210.post-54736279054373231232012-03-23T05:34:00.000-04:002012-03-23T05:34:00.808-04:00Garden Sun Tabletop Propane Heater - Hammered Silver (34.65") Review
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)The assembly instructions must have been translated from another language because they did not make sense. As a cook, I was unable to accomodate myself to an anemic electric range. By the way, the oven is excellent, even if the burners are slow and underpowered. The CookTek changed all that. It's gets realy hot! Being far more efficient than the plain old fashioned resitive burners in the stove makes the difference, even though my cooktop is of relatively low power being designed to use 120 volt outlets. It simmers like a dream, changes temperatures like a wizard, far faster than any other method of cooking. I swear by it. The company's warranty and repair procedures are very fair. I imagine they have to be since these units are designed for commercial use.
There are only two drawbacks. Both seem minor to me. First, like every other electrical appliance in the kitchen, induction cook tops are not perfectly reliable. Mine have failed twice over the last four years. Second, because of the mandatory cooling fan enclosed in the table top hob, it's a bit noisy.
One more advantage makes me willing to overlook these annoyances. I live in an apartment in California. When I want to grill, I simply take my CookTek onto the balcony, put it on a small table and top it with a heavy cast-iron grill. The cast iron tea press combines the old Japanese tradition of enjoying tea in a tetsubin style teapot with BODUM's proven tea press system. The Assam shape is reminiscent of the traditional English tea pots, whereas the cast iron material and its texture create the relaxing feeling of participating in a Japanese tea ceremony, a purifying bath of the six senses.Cast iron was used not only to convey the Asian style, but because of its brilliant qualities to preserve heat and therefore the consistent quality of the tea within. To create the distinctive Assam bowl shape, two iron cast parts are fused together. The knob pattern (Arare) surrounding the exterior of the pot contains the same amount of knobs in the first and last row. Then I made the final tightening with the socket wrench. Not counting taking the parts out of the packaging and reading the directions, it took about 20 minutes to put together. All but one of the holes lined up perfectly. The one that was off, was still open enough to force the bolt through.
Everything appears to be well made. The instructions aren't clear about whether the "feet" should be angled in or out. I have some of both, and it appears to have not made any difference... but it would be better if the instructions indicated one way or the other.
So far, the black vinyl-fabric cover has survived a full New Hampshire winter and summer with no signs of decomposition or wear. However, I strongly recommend to the company that they punch a few grommets on the flap hems so that users can attach compression ("bungie") cords or rope or other method of tying-down the flaps. Just a light breeze lifts them up and off, despite the almost worthless hook-and-loop strips at the ends. I wound up running two tie-down straps completely around the top and bottom after I filled the rack with wood, and that worked.

Click Here to see more reviews about: 12ft Woodhaven Firewood Rack - Black

Exclusively from Woodland Direct The Woodhaven Firewood Rack this black powder coat is a great outdoor firewood rack. Everything works great. Power Boil is fast. Looks great. I'm sure we'd be happy with the stand alone model too as I'm sure GE uses the same components in that model...... I'm not sure why this slide in model costs so much more then the stand alone... They provide solutions for commercial, industrial and residential use in more than 100 countries which uses innovative technologies and ecomagination. It's a GE initiative to aggressively bring to market new technologies that help customers and consumers meet pressing environmental challenges to deliver comfort, convenience and electrical protection and control. GE brings imagination to work. These versatile ovens combine thermal, convection, and microwave energies with delicious results. Consumers don't have to toss out their beloved cookbooks. Chef's Guide controls automatically adjust standard recipe time and temperature for speedcook modes. Simply enter food type, time, and temperature and the oven applies the right combination of energies to optimize cooking performance, delivering delicious results with every dish. Speed modes allow foods to cook up to five times faster than in a traditional oven; speed roast a turkey in half the time, speed bake breads in a third of the time and side dishes in a quarter of the time. Potatoes speed cook five times faster than in a traditional oven. In addition to this unique combination of cooking technologies, these ovens also offer traditional cooking methods: baking, broiling, roasting, and true European convection. Additional modes include defrost, warm, proof, self-clean, and help. The Chef's Guide glass touch controls make oven programming quick and easy. The full-size oven can accommodate everything from a large turkey to multiple trays of cookies. Consumers can use the same cookware as in their traditional oven. The PreciseAir convection system uses an innovative fan that reverses direction for optimal air and heat circulation so there is no need to rotate pans.

Click here for more information about GE Profile PS968DPBB 30 Slide-in Electric Range, 4.1 cu. ft. This is a nice-looking stove. I like the center griddle area; it's convenient for placing hot pots. The warming drawer is also a very nice feature that I expect to use.
Unfortunately, the high-powered (right front) burner does not light evenly. The flame on the outer perimeter does not go as high as that on the inner perimeter. I called GE twice for repair. The first technician said it was supposed to be that way to prevent the high flame from burning something on the adjacent counter top (a very creative, if far-fetched, explanation). The second technician claimed to have corrected the problem, but this isn't the case. If I had known about this, I probably would have purchased a different stove. However, everything else seems to be working properly, so I guess I can live with this glitch. As for cleaning. I wish it came with removable drip pans. I called far and wide looking for one that did before choosing a stove. It seems that this is a thing of the past and is only available on more basic models of gas stoves, esp those w/o sealed burners, and electric stoves. I inquired about purchasing drip pans elsewhere, but none would fit this stove.
So, I guess I'll deal with frequent messes. The grates are double length and fortunately fit in my 30" sink. If GE is able to correct these two problems, I would have no qualms about recommending this stove.

Click Here to see more reviews about: GE Profile : PGB908DEMWW Gas Range

GE Consumer and Industrial spans the globe as an industry leader in major appliance, lighting and integrated industrial equipment, systems and services. Baking in this oven is unpredictable. A cake that is supposed to take 45 mins can take 80 mins. The temp fluctuates too much. I have had it a little over a year and use it a lot, being a homemaker. There are two problems that we have had with this range. The knob for the oven has been replaced half a dozen times because the numbers wear off. I don't use chemical cleaners on my range, or even in my house. The company said last time that the knob I was getting was from a new shipment and shouldn't have a problem. Today I called again because all the numbers have worn off my knob. It is very difficult to adjust the temperature of an oven when you can't read the numbers. The person who took my call asked me how I cleaned my knob. I told him that I didn't use any chemicals just water (if needed). He said he hadn't had any other complaints. Perhaps that is because most Americans don't bake much anymore. The stove knobs have not had any writing wear off on them. So, it has to be the knob. He is sending me a knew knob, but I'm not to positive about it's numbers lasting. In addition, the controller that turns the gas on and off for the oven quit working about ten months after we purchased the stove. The company did fulfill it's warranty and fix it, but I was disappointed that it didn't last very long and hope the component does not wear out again in ten months.

Click Here to see more reviews about: Premier SFK240T 30" Freestanding Gas Range with 4 Open Burners, 3.9 cu. ft.
