BonJour Cast Iron Teapot with Stainless Steel Infuser and Matching Trivet, Tea Box Design Review

BonJour Cast Iron Teapot with Stainless Steel Infuser and Matching Trivet, Tea Box Design
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
EDIT(30 day use report): Questionable quality, material safety, and manufacturer. Quick to fall apart. (see "Material Safety and Quality" section).
Summary: Stylish BLACK teapot, interior enameled. flame durability still unknown.
Appearance:
The teapot is actually cast iron black, with a mildly glossy surface. The picture is misleading, as the color in the picture is nearly a light gray.
Enameling
The inside is enameled (as BonJour does with all their cast iron teapots).
Use over fire:
The teapot is not supposed to withstand being heated over an open flame, (because the rates of thermal expansion for glass (enamel) and cast iron are not the same)... However, I went ahead and put it on a cast iron warmer anyways. I cannot say this isn't harming the teapot. However, The interior surface of the enamel has not yet cracked. Although, there are small lines that appear to be stress cracks under the surface of the enamel in areas that my teapot warmer isn't directly warming. I guess we'll see how well it holds up over a few months.
EDIT (30 days of use): Actually, as with most enameled cast iron teapots, user over a tea light candle or two is fine, as long as you're going so extreme as to heat it over a stove. This item shows no signs of wear with respect to heating over (typically 3) tea lights. This is something I have confirmed by speaking with various sales representatives from other companies. However, I do take care to ensure that, while it is over candles, it always has liquid in it (this way, the evaporation of the liquid within will put a limit to the teapot's temperature).
Trivet Dimensions:
The trivet is sturdy, approximately 5.5" square, 0.2" thick, standing about 0.45" off the table top on 3 rubber-covered legs.
New Additions after 30 days of use:
Material Safety and Quality (after 30 days of use)
After about 30 days of use, brewing several pots of tea a day, this teapot fails my expectations.
First, the enamel within the spout chipped, detached, and fell out within the first day of use. This has left my spout to rust a bit... While this isn't the biggest health or flavor-related issue, it does say something about the quality of this item.
Secondly, certain areas show low quality and suspicious manufacturing... the rim on which the lid sits is quickly degrading. The paint in the area is quickly chipping, showing rusted areas underneath.
Lastly, It is made in China. I realize much of the hype about low quality Chinese products is all hype, and there are many legitimate high quality manufacturers out there. However, the blatantly low quality of this item, combined with the fact that it was manufactured in the People's Republic of China raises red flags. Bonjour's poor customer service (see next section) and inability to answer for the health safety qualifications of their products (as well as their sly technique of writing "Manufactured in PRC"- which stands for People's Republic of China) makes me very nervous about the material safety of this product.
Call me spoiled or paranoid... But I would like to be picky about what goes into my body.
Bonjour Customer Support:
Pretty bad, in my experience. Unreplied emails and an inability to reach anyone by phone. Primarily tried to ask about the material safety and product quality post-purchase.

GROSCHE Merlin Thermal Glass Infuser Teapot 1200 ml 40 fl oz. capacity stovetop safe for loose tea Review

GROSCHE Merlin Thermal Glass Infuser Teapot 1200 ml 40 fl oz. capacity stovetop safe for loose tea
Average Reviews:

Pros:
- It's beautiful. Tea looks beautiful in it.
- It has a lovely pour.
Cons:
- You must make a full pot of tea, or at least 34oz in order to use the pot, because the infuser does not reach anywhere close to the bottom of the pot.
- The glass infuser has 12 razor-thin slits in the bottom of it. That's it. Loose whole-bud chamomile clogs it once it breaks down.
- Though it's thermal, the tea does not stay hot in it for more than 10 - 15 minutes. You must keep it on a heating element.
- It's extremely fragile. I thought this thermal glass would be much thicker. The glass is very thin, and considering there are 3 interacting pieces (top, pot, infuser), it feels as though you could break any piece just by clicking it too hard against another piece.
- You cannot remove the infuser and put the top back on, as another reviewer stated. It will fall through the pot.
I decided to return it.

Primula Glass Stovetop Tea Pot with Infuser Review

Primula Glass Stovetop Tea Pot with Infuser
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
BE FOREWARNED: I bought this teapot for my wife as a little surprise gift little over three months ago as we're tea fans. I was impressed by the product descriptions of its 'laboratory-strength' thick glass; I had wanted to purchase a sturdy glass pot. And the fact that this was identified as dishwasher and microwave safe seemed additional testimony to its durability.
Please note: it's never been used in dishwasher OR microwave; it's been treated with great care simply because: that's how we are. And yet, just now: as the pot stood, filled on the counter: a roundish/tear-drop-shaped portion of the pot just popped OUT from the side. Untouched. It simply: broke. All by itself. A portion of the pot blew out, with attendant crack leading up to the top of the pot. And: she had made the tea about 1.5 hours previously; it wasn't even hot. But: of course, she and the counter were suddenly treated to a half-pot of tea.
VERY disappointed as well as extremely puzzled over how something like this could even happen. And it's clear there was no concussion from the outside: both the piece AND the pot show the glass blew OUTWARDS and that portion is fully intact.

This glass teapot with a capacity of 40 ounces turns the act of brewing tea into an artistic presentation. Loose tea leaves are placed into the glass infuser, hot water is added, and when the water reaches the desired color or strength, the infuser is lifted out along with all the loose leaves. A glass lid keeps the heat in, and the graceful loop handle makes the pot easy to pour. Tea flowers look beautiful in the pot, too, and work best without the infuser. Made of lightweight yet laboratory-strength borosilicate glass, the teapot won't stain and is safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher. For the tea drinker, Primula also sells a glass tea-making mug and packets of tea flowers, which are AA-grade green tea leaves and actual dried flowers that are hand-sewn into tight balls by artisans in China. After a tea flower ball is place in hot water, it will slowly sink to the bottom and unfurl into full "bloom." Some even have two different kinds of flowers that unfurl into a colorful spectacle, adding fragrance and flavor to the tea.

GROSCHE VIENNA Stove top water Kettle and Infuser glass Teapot 1250ml 42 fl. oz Review

GROSCHE VIENNA Stove top water Kettle and Infuser glass Teapot 1250ml 42 fl. oz

I received this yesterday and am quite pleased. We've made 3 pots of tea already!
I wanted something pretty, something that I can heat water in, and also make/serve tea in. This does it! It is very delicate looking, and look pretty sitting on my stove top when not in use. The only downside is that it is quite delicate (my kids will not be handling it much) and it can only be used on medium heat - making boiling water a bit longer than usual.
