Keeps any room very warm you can turn your heat down to 64 and with this on you won't notice you did. In a smaller room like a bedroom you actually will have to turn the unit down a bit or open the door because it will get hot in there. How much you save on gas vs. electricity I don't know but it looks great with the log and flames. The cabinet came in pieces unfortunatly but when I put it together it was solid. It sits with much more expensive furniture and nobody would know it came in a box. Takes about an hour to assemble, not at all difficult but if you don't like assembling these sort of things keep that in mind.
